Oregon Voice Welcomes Funders Committee

Posted in on Jun 13, 2011

Oregon Voice is thrilled to welcome the Funders Committee on Civic Participation to Portland for the first time ever! This committee focuses on issues of equity and historically disenfranchised and underrepresented communities and supporting non-partisan efforts to engage voters, eliminate structural barriers to voting, advance reforms to improve government and electoral systems and inspire public involvement in civic life.

This year marks the largest convening of this group of funders ever—over 70—including such organizations as Open Society, Carnegie Corporation of New York, Democracy Alliance, Ford Foundation, Mott Philanthropic, and Atlantic Philanthropies, among many, many others. The convening is open only to invited guests and Oregon Voice is honored that a number of our members will be featured.

In fact, it is the strength of our coordination across and among ourorganizations that has attracted the attention of folks across the country. This is an exciting opportunity and we look forward to showcasing the work that Oregon is doing for this national audience.
